July 11, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
When: July 11 @ 11am PST
Lecturer: Naftali Horowitz PHd, Harvard stem cell and regenerative biology department, duration – 45 minutes, Q&A follows.
Defined as the progressive loss of muscle mass with age, Sarcopenia affects multiple aspects of muscle biology and function. Oftentimes cited as the cause of a lack of physical activity in the elderly, Sarcopenia can have far reaching effects beyond motility. In this talk we will explore the molecular underpinnings of the process, its physical and health related implications as well as current efforts to address and potentially treat the disorder.
