NEUROPLASTICITY AND BRAIN LONGEVITY

December 12, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST

December 12, 2022 @ 11am PST
Lecturer: Aga Szmitkowska, Ph.D, Duration – 45 minutes, Q&A follows.

Neuroplasticity is a term used to describe a broad spectrum of neuronal activities encompassing multiple mechanisms involved in the changes that occur in the brain during one’s life. These include the brain’s ability to modify, adapt, and change its structure and function as a response to life experiences. These changes are regulated by various neurotransmitters like glutamate, acetylcholine, epinephrine, and dopamine and their varying expression levels. Suboptimal expression of these transmitters may lead to cognitive decline as age progresses. There are many ways of improving neuroplasticity through activities for cognitive development. In this talk, you will find suggestions on how to incorporate those activities into your practice and prolong the healthy mental longevity of your clients.
